All told I now have eight monster zooks just from the past week. Worse still there are a half dozen more growing on the vine as I speak. They have begun to take over my entire vegetable garden with their long tubes of cellulose that they use to extend their wide fan leaves, blocking out all the sun from the nearby tomatoes, cabbages, and beans. The zucchini plant is like Mr. Burns, in a way. I chopped off about half their leaf stems to get them back in line and will be ruthlessly enforcing the no-grow zones. Now their severed arms will be mulch for the plants they&#8217;ve been covering.</p>
